Thirty-one graduating seniors from the Peninsula School District will be honored this spring at the 22nd annual Students of Distinction Awards Ceremony on May 15th.
The entire community is invited to join in the awards dinner and ceremony honoring the distinguished graduating seniors from Gig Harbor, Peninsula or Henderson Bay high schools. Ticket price includes full meal, beverages and awards ceremony.
Annually, students are nominated by peers or teachers. Finalists are selected by a panel at each school, and then interviewed by a panel of community leaders. Students are honored in one of seven different categories:
- Academics
- Athletics
- Career & Technological Excellence
- Community Service
- Music, Arts & Drama
- Overcoming Adversity
- Science & Technology
Since 2003, the Students of Distinction program has honored more than 630 graduating seniors from Peninsula School District.
Annually, sponsors as Kitsap Credit Union, Peninsula Light Company, Ocean5, The Peninsula Gateway, private local family foundations, and the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation have helped to provide over $260,500 in scholarships.
